The Horned Frogs Continue Preseason Practice

FORT WORTH, Texas - With the first week of practice winding down, the TCU soccer team is starting to hit its stride.
"Practice has been going pretty well," senior midfielder Kim Thompson said. "Everyone is fitting in and the atmosphere has been fantastic. I think we are really starting to come together as a team. It is early and there is always room for improvement, but I feel like we are practicing really well."
With an influx of 10 freshmen to the 2006 roster, Thompson and the rest of the Horned Frogs are adjusting well to the new faces.
"All the freshmen seem like they have a lot of talent and are extremely competitive," Thompson said. "The freshmen class is very poised and mature and I expect them to be great contributors."
With temperatures consistently in the 100s during afternoon practices, the Horned Frogs are continually adjusting to the heat, in hopes of using it as an advantage when the season begins.
"It's pretty hot out there, but most of us have prepared well during the summer," Thompson said. "We are used to the heat because we would go outside and train at 5 p.m. with the strength and conditioning coach during the summer."
TCU begins its preseason schedule on Aug. 15 when the Horned Frogs travel to Norman, Okla., to face the Sooners at 3 p.m.
