Fort Worth, Texas -- TCU women's soccer standout Karissa Hill was one of 18 players selected from a pool of 56 from around the country to join the USASA Women's Select National Team. The squad was narrowed down to 18 members after a three-day camp held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
The team will play matches against the full Mexican national team and the full United States national team.
A senior midfielder from Mansfield, Texas, Hill is the first player in TCU history to be invited to a national camp.
"This is an exciting opportunity for Karissa," said Head Coach Dan Abdalla. "I'm glad to see her hard work paying off. The more our girls get a chance to play against competition at that level, the better off we will be in the fall."
TCU soccer will kick-off the 2006 season on Aug. 25 against Rice at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
