FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU's Matt Lewis was named the District 7 Equipment Manager of the Year while placing in the final three for National Equipment Manager of the Year by the Athletic Equipment Manager's Association (AEMA).
Lewis, in his fourth year at TCU, works directly with the Horned Frog football team and oversees the equipment operation for TCU's 20-sport athletics program.
The four-state District 7 includes Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Other awards won by Lewis and his office include the 2003 Conference USA Equipment Staff of the Year.
The District 7 Award is named after the late Dorman Knight, longtime Oklahoma University equipment manager, and Billy Pickard, who served as an equipment manager for many years at Texas A&M and is currently the director of facilities for the Aggies.
