Wow, this season has been quite a blur. A week and a half ago, we were in San Diego playing for the conference title and now here I am, back in school, practicing, and studying mercilessly for my finals! I had one final today, I have two tomorrow, a paper due Wednesday, and my last final is on Thursday. I have to shake that off come Friday because my team and I have to be geared up and ready to go on Friday, when we host Rice.
Right now, we are 21-6 and ranked 16th in the country. We are projected to do very well and we anticipate ourselves surpassing our own expectations. The entire women's team is excited to host the regional, and it is a unique and exhilarating experience for me especially since it is my senior year and I get to play on TCU's courts once more.
We had practice this weekend and we are doing a combination of team practice and individuals to prepare ourselves for this coming Friday and Saturday. We have begun night practice as well to acclimate our eyes and bodies to playing underneath the lights. It is quite a different experience practicing and, of course, playing at night. I cannot quite explain it, but I feel as if I am a gladiator in an arena!
