
Mlendea falls in NCAA Singles Tournament

STANFORD, Calif. - TCU sophomore and 34th-ranked Andrei Mlendea fell to No. 16 Matt Bruch of Stanford in the opening round of the 2006 NCAA Singles Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Taube Stadium.
For the season, Mlendea was a two-time Mountain West Conference Player of the Week and was recognized to the all-conference squad after going 5-1 versus MWC foes. His season was highlighted with victories over eighth-ranked Jerry Makowski of Texas A&M and fourth-rated Lars Poerschke of Baylor.
