Knight, McLean named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU women's basketball sophomore Moneka Knight and men's golf freshman Jon McLean have been named the TCU Student-Athletes of the Week the department announced on Tuesday.
Knight, a guard from Las Vegas, Nev., scored a career-high 14 points as TCU knocked off sixth-seeded and 20th-ranked Texas A&M 69-65 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Coming off the bench, Knight played 26 minutes and dished out a team-high six assists while scoring nine of her 14 points over the final 8:30 of the game.
The Lady Frogs continue their NCAA Championship run on Tuesday when they take on third-seeded Rutgers. Tip time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. (CST) and will be televised on ESPN2.
McLean posted a career-best eighth-place finish at the Hall of Fame Invitational over the weekend. The Westin, Fla., product finished the first round in 49th place before moving up 41 spots over the next two rounds to help TCU to a share of eighth place. The 17-team field included seven top-25 schools.
