FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 19 TCU women's tennis team resumes action on Wednesday when it heads to Charlottesville, Va., to take on Virginia to begin a three-match road swing. Match time for Wednesday is set for 1 p.m.
Virginia is coming off a tough 4-3 loss to No. 8 Georgia Tech on Sunday to fall to 6-5 on the season. UVA and TCU are tied 1-1 in the all-time series that dates back to 1994. In the last meeting, the Frogs defeated the Cavaliers 5-2 on March 10, 2004.
After taking on Virginia, TCU then travels to Williamsburg, Va., to battle No. 28 William & Mary. The Tribe are 9-5 on the season and fell in their last match 5-2 to No. 11 Texas. In the only meeting between the two institutions, TCU prevailed 6-1 in April of last season.
In a rematch of a Feb. 3 contest that saw No. 16 Harvard prevail 4-3 at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors, the Frogs and Crimson will meet for the second time this season on a neutral court. Harvard is 8-3 on the season and posted a 6-1 victory over Tulsa on Sunday. Harvard is 2-0 all-time versus TCU.
The Frogs are 7-3 on the season and defeated Texas A&M 5-2 on Thursday. Sophomore Nicole Leimbach (No. 12), senior Helena Besovic (No. 41), freshman Anna Sydorska (No. 82) and junior Ana Cetnik (No. 105) highlight a Frogs' roster that features four nationally-ranked players. Besovic and Sydorska comprise the No. 15 doubles team.
