
Fitch signed by New York Jets

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Former TCU defensive tackle Zarnell Fitch has been signed by the New York Jets to their practice squad.Fitch is the second former Horned Frog on the Jets' roster. Cornerback Drew Coleman, a sixth-round draft pick in 2006, has played in all 15 games for the Jets this season. Coleman has totaled 26 tackles, including a sack. He has two pass break-ups and a forced fumble.
The Jets (9-6) can clinch a playoff spot with a victory over Oakland on Sunday.
Fitch was a two-year letterman (2004-05) for the Frogs after transferring from Navarro Junior College.
As a senior on TCU's 2005 Mountain West Conference championship team, Fitch started three games at nose tackle. He totaled 24 stops with four for a loss. He had 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and three pass break-ups. His second pick of the year came in the 27-24 victory over Iowa State in the EV1.net Houston Bowl.
For his Frog career, Fitch recorded 34 tackles.
