
TCU Swimming and Diving heads to Las Vegas

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU swimming and diving team will travel to Las Vegas to participate in the UNLV Invite on Dec. 16-18. The Frogs will be joined by 12 other schools, including UNLV, San Diego State, New Mexico State, UC-Santa Barbara, Cal State Bakersfield, Chapman College, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College, Seattle University, University of La Verne and the University of New Orleans.
The TCU women (7-3, 2-3) have already faced San Diego State and New Mexico State this season, recording wins of 61-50 and 75-38, respectively. The TCU men are currently 4-2 on the season with a 1-2 mark in the MWC.
The women are led by senior Erica Tate and freshman phenom Jennifer Ferguson. Tate, a two-time TCU MVP, is currently undefeated in the 50-free, recording a 6-0 mark on the season. Recently at the UT Invite, the Grapevine, Texas, native slated a time of 23.43 in the 50-free preliminary, which is a NCAA "B" qualifying time.
Ferguson, TCU's student-athlete of the month, has swept all diving events on the season to post a record of 12-0. Ferguson won four consecutive MWC Women's Diver of the Week awards to tie a conference record.
For the men, junior Scott McCracken has been on a hot streak as of late. At the UT Invite, McCracken recorded a blistering time of 20.35 in the 50-free event, coming just one-hundredth of a second off of the school record. On the season, McCracken has slated five event wins and has been a recipient of the MWC Men's Swimmer of the Week award.
