
Karoly named third team All-Rookie by Top Drawer Soccer

FORT WORTH, Texas - After leading the Mountain West Conference in shots and pacing the TCU soccer team in goals and points in 2006, freshman forward Lizzy Karoly earned her first postseason honor on Thursday as Top Drawer Soccer selected Karoly to its third team All-Rookie squad.
"I am honored to be selected to the team because I didn't expect it," Karoly said. "It is just an honor to see that all my hard work has paid off."
A native of Escondido, Calif., Karoly paced the MWC with 63 shots and in shots per game (3.50), while ranking fifth in the league in goals (six), points (14) and points per game (.78).
The honor for Karoly was TCU's first postseason honor by a freshman since three freshmen earned Conference USA postseason honors in 2003.
Karoly helped TCU to an overall record of 6-8-4 and 1-3-3 in the MWC by scoring six of TCU's 19 goals on the year. To conclude the season, Karoly scored four of TCU's final seven goals.
Karoly was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25 after posting two goals and an assist in TCU's 3-0 win over UTSA. Karoly attempted nine shots against UTSA and two against SMU to give her 11 for the week.
On the year, Karoly had two-multi-goal games after scoring twice against Oral Roberts on Sept. 3 and UTSA on Sept. 23.
Against Sam Houston State on Sept. 15, Karoly had a conference-best 10 shots. She also had nine shots against UTSA.
