Biefnes started his collegiate career with a win in the 200-IM (2:01.56) at McMurry.

In his second meet of the day, Biefnes recorded wins in the 1000-free (10:20.77) and 100-breast (1:00.90) at UTPB.

Biefnes also earned a victory on the 200-medley relay team at McMurry with a time of 1:41.23.
