
Henson tabbed for MWC defensive honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- TCU linebacker Robert Henson has been named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's 26-3 victory over Wyoming.Henson helped key a Horned Frog defense that limited the Cowboys to 165 yards of offense, including 28 yards rushing on 26 carries. The sophomore from Longview, Texas, totaled a team-best eight tackles (seven solo), including two for a loss with one sack.
Also a special teams standout, Henson forced a Wyoming fumble on a kickoff return which led to a first-quarter TCU field goal. Earlier this season, Henson had a key punt block in a 12-3 victory over Texas Tech.
Henson is the third TCU recipient of MWC Defensive Player of the Week accolades this season. Safety Marvin White garnered the award after wins over Baylor and Texas Tech.
Despite not starting a game, Henson is tied for third on the Frogs in both tackles (35) and stops for a loss (five).
