
Musslewhite and Ferguson Selected By Baltimore In June

Fort Worth, Texas - TCU senior shortstop Stuart Musslewhite and junior reliever Shawn Ferguson became the third and fourth players respectively to be taken in the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft. Musslewhite was the 13th pick of the 24th round and the 723rd player taken overall, while Ferguson was the 13th pick of the 36th round.
Musslewhite transferred to TCU from the University of Houston for his senior campaign. He was the lone Frog to start all 61 games this season and recorded career highs in all statistical categories. Musslewhite batted .315 this season with 82 hits. He tied a single-season school record, leading the team with 21 doubles. He collected five home runs and drove in 34 runs.
Ferguson transferred to TCU in the fall after a season at San Jacinto Junior College in Houston. He finished the season with a 1-2 record to go along with three saves. He struck out 49 batters in 34 innings pitched this season. He had a 5.56 ERA in 28 appearances for the Frogs. Opponents hit just .202 off of the righty.
On Tuesday, junior right-handed pitcher Lance Broadway was selected as the 15th pick overall by the Chicago White Sox. Baltimore also selected senior catcher Kyle Dahlberg in the 13th round on TCU. Over the last three drafts, the Orioles have selected five Horned Frogs.
