FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU Head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle announced the addition of one more recruit to the class of 2005. LHP/Utility player Derek VerHagen out of Rockwall High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball and continue his education at TCU. "We are excited to add Derek to our 2006 team," said Schlossnagle. " He is an outstanding student and a talented pitcher. With continued development, we expect him to make an impact in our program early in his career."
VerHagen joins an already talented group of signees who will come to TCU in the fall. The other signees include Fort Worth product Corey Steglich, an infielder from Southwest High School, and Metroplex natives Craig Italiano, a right-handed pitcher, Paul Kelly, an infielder out of Flower Mound and Aaron Smith, a catcher/infielder out of McKinney.
