The TCU Lady Frogs (15-6, 6-1) host the Memphis Lady Tigers (10-11, 3-5) in Conference USA action Saturday at 7 p.m. CST in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Lady Frogs were on the road for their last three games, going 2-1 during that stretch with wins over Cincinnati and Houston. TCU is 3-0 in the all-time series with the Lady Tigers, winning 78-75 last year in Memphis, Tenn. In the only other meeting between the two schools in Fort Worth, Texas, TCU won by a 61-53 score. Despite being undefeated in the series, the Lady Frogs have only come out on top by an average of 6.7 points. Turnovers have played a big part in TCU-Memphis games, with the two teams combining for an average of 53.7 miscues. TCU'S LAST TIME OUT
The TCU Lady Frogs grinded out a 63-55 victory over the Houston Lady Cougars Sunday at Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston Sunday. In addition to Sandora Irvin's 13 points and 12 rebounds, Vanessa Clementino had a double-double for the Lady Frogs with 10 points and 11 rebounds. It was the second of her career at TCU. Ashley Davis and Lorie Butler-Rayford finished in double figures with 11 each. Butler-Rayford made her first career start by replacing Natasha Lacy, who was coming off a badly sprained ankle she suffered in practice Tuesday. Butler-Rayford also went 9-for-10 at the free-throw line and had five rebounds. Lacy's gutsy performance saw her finish with 11 points, five boards, six assists and three steals in 36 minutes. Less than 24 hours before tip-off, it was unclear if the sophomore point guard would even be able to play against Houston.
MEMPHIS' LAST TIME OUT
Memphis dropped a 58-56 decision at home to Cincinnati Sunday to give the Bearcats their first win in Conference USA play this season. Anne Stephens scored the winning basket for UC when she picked up a miss from teammate Micah Harvey and laid the ball back up with nine seconds to go. She added a free throw after rebounding a miss by Memphis' Jennifer Sullivan on the next possession. Stephens led the Bearcats in scoring with 24 points off the bench. Victoria Crawford put up big numbers for the Lady Tigers with 28 points coming on 11-of-16 shooting. Memphis finished the game shooting just 9-of-17 at the free-throw line.
