Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team jumped six spots to 14th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings that were released this morning. The Frogs improved from the 20th spot after they won three matches last week to improve their record to a perfect 4-0 this season. The ranking is the highest in the history of the program.
Among the victories was a 4-3 triumph over then-No. 7 Clemson, which is the highest ranked team that TCU has ever defeated. The Frogs opened the week with a shutout of North Texas, 7-0, before beating UT-Arlington, 6-1.
By moving up in the poll, TCU overtook Tulane as the top-ranked team in Conference USA. The Green Wave held steady at 14th for the second straight week, while South Florida (55) and Louisville (T75) round out the teams ranked in the conference.
Fifteen of the 17 opponents remaining on the TCU schedule are ranked among the top-75. Southern California (13), Oklahoma (24) and Baylor (25) are all listed among the top-25.
The Frogs will return to competition on Thursday when No. 28 Texas A&M comes to Fort Worth for a 2 p.m. match.
