TCU Moderator: Good evening everybody, we are going to start the online chat with Pamela Gehrke. Pamela is a defensive specialist and is the youngest member of the Horned Frog roster. |
Beth (Eagan, Minnesota): Pamela, Minnesota is proud of you. What part of volleyball do you find the most fun? Who on the team brings smiles to the court? |
Pamela: Playing together as a team and winning are the best aspects of playing voileyball. Everyone on the team does their part for the team's overall success and happiness. |
Robbie (Albermarle): How has the transition been from high school to college been for you? |
Pamela: The transition from high school to college has been difficult in the aspect that the competition and the overall game are more advanced. At the beginning it was a bit discouraging, but as the season progressed it became easier. |
RamRod (Canada): who are your best friends on the team |
Pamela: Devon (Kirk), Nirelle (Hampton), Calli (Corley) and Kourtney (Edwards), Talaya (Whitfield). |
Omar (Omaha): What is your favorite aspect of being a Horned Frog |
Pamela: The tradition that TCU holds and it is an honor to continue that tradition and represent the Horned Frogs on a daily basis. |
Geri (Burleson): How did TCU find you in Minnesota? |
Pamela: I'm not quite sure how they found me, but I was interested in the program and what TCU had to offer academically and athletically. |
Frogfaithful: Just how cold does it really get in Minnesota? |
Pamela: Some days it gets so cold that you don't want to get out of bed. As many layers as you put on, you never get warm enough as you walk outside into the blizzard. |
Carrie (Fort Worth): Does your family and friends back home watch and listen to your matches on the Internet? |
Pamela: Yes, my parents listen to all the matches on the internet and they quite enjoy it. My mom feels like part of the game even though she is far away. |
Jonathan (League City): Who is the best team you have played this year? |
Pamela: Minnesota was a tough team to face. They were ranked No. 5 in the country when we played them. BYU was also a tough team. |
Melissa (Minneapolis): I'm a high school player. How can I get college teams to notice me? |
Pamela: My advice would be to contact the coaches of the schools that you are interested in and make a recruiting tape to send to them. Visit. |
Haley (Pflugerville, TX): I am a junior in high school and would like to see the volleyball facilities this weekend. How can that happen? |
TCU Moderator: Contact associate head coach Jason Tanaka or head coach Prentice Lewis. www.gofrogs.com |
Jan (Mounds View): What made you choose TCU? |
Pamela: TCU was appealling to me because of the good education that I could receive here. It also was appealling because I could continue playing volleyball. |
Anna Grace (Fort Worth): Is it sad to only have two home matches left this year? |
Pamela: It is sad to have the last home match at home this weekend; however, we are looking forward to the last two away matches and the conference tournament to end on a high note. |
Martha (st Louis): Hey Pamela!! How do you like Texas? |
Pamela: Yes, I am enjoying Texas a lot. It has so much to offer and it is full of new experiences for me. |
TCU Moderator: We would like to thank everyone for joining in the chat tonight. Be sure to check back next week as another Horned Frog volleyball player takes part in the chat. |
