LAST TIME THEY MET
Last November, the Lady Frogs notched an historic victory by downing Georgia 64-63 in Honolulu in the Rainbow Wahine Classic. UGA was ranked third in both polls at the time, giving TCU its first win in school history over a top five team. TCU star Sandora Irvin stole the show with 28 points, 15 rebounds and eight blocked shots. All but eight of Irvin's points came in the first half. Ashley Davis also had a solid effort with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The game-winning shot that put TCU ahead 64-62 came from JimAnne Hejny with 3:39 to play.
TCU VERSUS THE SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE
TCU owns an all-time record of 5-34 against teams from the Southeastern Conference. Four of those wins have come under the direction of coach Jeff Mittie. The Lady Frogs' record versus SEC teams breaks down like this: Alabama 0-1, Arkansas 3-20, Auburn 0-1, Georgia 1-1, LSU 0-4, Mississippi 0-2, Mississippi State 0-1, Tennessee 0-4, Vanderbilt 1-0.
A THREE IN ONE SPECIAL
TCU coach Jeff Mittie has said from the beginning that his team will need to be more balanced this season with the loss of star Sandora Irvin. He got plenty of balance in the team's first game sans Irvin on Nov. 18. Three Lady Frogs recorded double-doubles in a 71-68 overtime win against Long Beach State, a first for Mittie as the Lady Frogs' head coach. Lorie Butler-Rayford had 19 points and 11 rebounds, Vanessa Clementino tallied 15 points and 13 boards, and Natasha Lacy went for 13 points and 10 rebounds. Irvin racked up a school record 65 double-doubles in her 127 games at TCU.
