
TCU women's golf to close fall season in Nevada

HENDERSON, Nev. -- The TCU women's golf team will close its fall season when it begins play Monday at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown at the Anthem Country Club.The Frogs, with top-five finishes in each of their last two tournaments, have climbed to No. 45 nationally in the latest Golfweek rankings.
Participating teams in the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown include Arizona, Arkansas, BYU, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Kent State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pepperdine, SMU, TCU, UC Irvine, UCLA and UNLV.
In its last two tournaments, TCU posted a 21-stroke victory at Kansas State's Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational (Oct. 10-11) and a third-place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational (Oct. 14-16) in Greenville, S.C.
TCU junior Camille Blackerby is ranked 144th individually. The Breckenridge, Texas, native is this year's recipient of the Frogs' Ben Hogan Scholarship.
Blackerby was second at the Lady Paladin Invitational, just one stroke off the individual lead.
Catherine Matranga was third at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational as all five TCU golfers placed in the top 10.
