FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU junior point guard Corey Santee has earned third-team All-Conference USA honors, the league office has announced. Head coaches and three media members from each school's area were the panelists for the awards.
Santee, who hails from Flint, Mich., leads the Horned Frogs in scoring (14.6 points per game) and assists (4.4 per game), and is averaging a career-best 3.1 rebounds per game. In league play, his 15.9 points-per-game average was the seventh-highest among players in the 14-team conference.
Earlier this season, Santee became the 27th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau for his career, and his current total of 1,305 points ranks 11th. The 6-2 guard needs just 13 more points to move into TCU's all-time top 10 in scoring. He is on pace for 1,745 career points, a figure that would rank second in school annals. In addition, he is on traget to become the all-time leader in career assists at TCU.
Santee is the first player to be named to an all-league team since former backcourt mate Junior Blount earned second-team All-Conference USA honors in 2002. The rest of the list of all-conference performers appears below.
