
Horned Frogs 10th Through Two Rounds of Carpet Capital

ROCKY FACE, Ga. - The TCU Horned Frogs moved up two places into 10th after the second round of the the Carpet Capital Collegiate, the team's final event of the fall campaign. TCU was five strokes better on day two, as the Horned Frogs totaled a 301 (+13) for a two-day 607 (+31).
Third-ranked Georgia leads the 18-team field with a 36-hole sum of 587 (+11). The Horned Frogs are just 10 strokes out of fourth place, which is currently occupied by fifth-rated New Mexico.
J.J. Killeen (T-13th) leads a trio of Horned Frogs who reside in the tournament's top 20. The senior from Lubbock shot a two-over 74 in round two and has a score of 149 (+5) for the event. Killeen is eyeing his fourth top-20 finish in five events this season.
Senior David Schultz and junior Colby Beckstrom (T-16th) are one stroke and three places behind Killeen. Schultz posted the Horned Frogs' best round of the day with an even-par 72, while Beckstrom carded a plus-six 78 on Saturday
Sophomore Drew Stoltz and junior Drew Laning each improved their scores from the previous day, as Stoltz's 77 was four strokes better and Laning's 78 was a five-stroke improvement. Stoltz is now tied for 67th position at 158, while Laning (161) owns a share of 78th place.
Of the 18 schools, 12 are rated among the nation's top 25 according to the GCAA/Precept Coaches' Poll. No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Auburn, No. 5 New Mexico, No. 6 Florida, No. 10 TCU, No. 12 Southern California, No. 13 Tennessee, No. 15 Clemson, No. 20 Augusta State, No. 22 Duke and No. 24 South Carolina headline the strong field.
