
TCU Men's Tennis Gives Strong Showing in Regional Rankings

FORT WORTH, TexasThe TCU men's tennis team made a strong showing in the ITA Regional Rankings released Tuesday. Fabrizio Sestini was ranked third in singles for the South Central Region, followed by Jacopo Tezza at 11th, Rafael Abreu at 26th and Jordan Freitas at 29th. In doubles, Abreu and Sestini were the No. 2 team in the region, and Freitas and Tezza were eighth.
Sestini entered the fall ranked No. 73 nationally in singles and eighth in doubles with Abreu. He notched a 9-3 mark in singles and defeated three ranked players. In doubles, Abreu and Sestini finished 10-4 with two victories against ranked foes.
Tezza was 6-4 in singles and 3-3 in doubles with Freitas. Abreu went 2-3 in singles action, as did Freitas.
The national rankings for the spring are set to be released Jan. 11. TCU will compete in the Puerto Rico Invitational and the Rice Indoors before opening its dual match season at home Jan. 28 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
