MIDLAND, Texas - A half dozen former TCU men's golfers teed off at the 2004 Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic, a Nationwide Tour event, on Thursday at the Midland (Texas) Country Club (Par 72, 7,354 yards). A pair of recent TCU graduates, Adam Rubinson (Class of 2003) and Andy Doeden (Class of `02), are near the top of the leaderboard, tied for 12th among the 144 participants.
Rubinson, a Fort Worth native, and Doeden, who hails from Fargo, N.D., each carded even-par scores of 72 on the opening day. Pete Jordan (`86) registered a four-over 76, and sits in a share of 92nd place after 18 holes.
