
2003 Recruits Report To Team

Fort Worth, Texas - Head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle announced that all members of 2003 recruiting class have arrived at TCU and are enrolled in classes. Highlighting the recruits are 2003 first-year draft picks Omar Arif from Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas and Fort Worth native German Duran from Paschal High School.
Arif, a left-handed pitcher, was selected in the 27th round by the Houston Astros. He was the 809th pick overall in the draft. A shortstop, Duran was selected in the 32nd round by the Cincinnati Reds as the 951st overall pick. Also joining Arif and Duran at TCU are Shelby Ford of Southwest High School in Fort Worth; Lance Arrington of Aledo, Texas; Kevin Peranton of Flower Mound, Texas; and Chase Perry of Dallas, Texas. Transfers Bo Cogbill out of Weatherford Junior College and Daniel Gutzmer out of Dodge City CC have also joined the team this fall.
"I am excited that these young men have enrolled as students at TCU and we look forward to evaluating them in fall practice," said Coach Schlossnagle.
