On the heels of an impressive second place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational last weekend, the TCU women's cross country team has climbed from sixth to fifth in this week's South Central Regional Cross Country Poll.
The Frogs garnered 109 points to move past SMU (103) into the fifth position, just six points in back of fourth place Texas. Arkansas continues to lead the poll with 150 points, followed by Baylor (136) and Texas A&M (134). The Aggies were the only squad to top TCU in last Saturday's event held in College Station.
The Frogs are led this season by junior Mary Kinyanjui. Kinyangui was the individual winner at the Texas A&M Invitational and was honored as the Conference USA women's cross country Athlete of the Week for her performance.
On the men's side, TCU remains in a tie for 14th place in the regional poll with LSU. The Frogs garnered 12 points. Arkansas leads the men's poll with 150 points, followed by Texas A&M (137) and Texas (129).
The TCU men's and women's squads will not be in action this week as they prepare for the Cowboy Jamboree, set for October 4 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
