TCU baseball closes a five-game homestand Tuesday evening when it hosts in-state rival Southwest Texas for the only meeting between the longtime foes this season. First pitch for the April Fool's Day contest between the Horned Frogs and Bobcats is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Lupton Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field.
Tuesday's matchup marks one of just four home games in April for TCU (18-13, 6-3 C-USA). The Horned Frogs, who stand tied for third place in Conference USA, will be on the road the next two weekends, as they travel to league opponents Memphis and second-place UAB, respectively.
Southwest Texas comes into the mid-week contest sporting a 14-16 overall record (5-3 in the Southland Conference). However, the Bobcats have some impressive wins on their resume this season, including victories at No. 10 Baylor and at No. 13 Texas. SWT is coming off a three-game sweep of league-foe Southeastern Louisiana this past weekend.
TCU has won two of the first four games of their home stand, beating Oklahoma 4-3 last Tuesday in 11 innings before dropping two-of-three league games to preseason-favorite Houston over the weekend.
