FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU football squad will put on the pads for the final time this spring on Saturday, April 5, when they compete in the annual Spring Game. The contest pitting the Purple against the White is set for 11:00 a.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. Admission to the scrimmage is free.
"The spring game is the culmination of our 15-practice spring session," said TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson. "We'll go 'good-on-good' with Conference USA officials and try to build on the excitement and passion for TCU football that we generated last fall and over the past several seasons. The spring games gives our fans an early look at this year's team. I think they'll be excited to see how good the tailbacks are looking and how the young guys are stepping it up."
As an added treat this year, the TCU Athletics Department will be hosting a Spring Cleaning Sale, which begins at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the start of the scrimmage. The TCU Athletics Department will be cleaning out their closets and making used football, basketball and baseball jerseys along with warmups from several sports available for sale to the public. All proceeds will benefit the TCU Athletics Department and the Frog Club. Payment may be made via cash or check, no credit cards. All sales are final.
The Horned Frogs will open the 2003 season on Labor Day, Monday, September 1 with a nationally-televised Conference USA battle against Tulane in New Orleans. The Frogs open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, September 6 when they host Navy in a 6:00 p.m. contest at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
