The folks at the Guinness Book of World Records have not contacted TCU yet, but the Horned Frogs are making plans for what will be the shortest "road trip" in school history, as they get set to play in the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl on Tuesday, December 23.
"We are excited to be part of the inaugural PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl," said TCU Athletics Director Eric Hyman. "This will be an outstanding event and a great opportunity to showcase the Fort Worth community to the nation. However, we ask our fans to remember that, although the game will be played in Amon G. Carter Stadium, this is not a "home game" for TCU. We are subject to the guidelines established by the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl and we ask for your cooperation."
For the bowl game, TCU has leased Amon G. Carter Stadium to ESPN and the game operation is under the management of the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl and its committee. Both the ticket operation and the parking are completely under the control of the Fort Worth Bowl. Many of the normal amenities available to TCU fans at regular season home games will not be afforded to them during the bowl game.
Game time for the PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl is set for 6:30 p.m. The contest will be televised nationally on ESPN.
