
Browne Named C-USA Player of the Week

TCU placekicker Nick Browne has been selected as the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week for the Labor Day weekend, the conference office announced today.
Browne, a junior two-sport standout connected on all five field goal attempts, setting a school record and tying the Conference USA record for field goals in a game in TCU's 36-29 overtime loss at Cincinnati. The 5-10, 165-pounder hit from 22, 43, 36, 50 and 48 yards out. His 50-yarder matched his career long. He also added a pair of extra points to account for 17 of the Frogs' 29 points.
Browne posted a "double-double" in scoring in 2001. On the gridiron, he was TCU's top scorer with 72 points and was twice selected C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week. He also was the leading scorer on the TCU soccer team last fall with five goals and three assists for 13 total points. Although the schedule isn't as favorable for him this year, Browne is again participating in both fall sports. He also is an excellent student in the classroom, carrying a 4.0 GPA, and was named the 2002 Pop Boone TCU Male Athlete of the Year.
