FORT WORTH, Texas - In recognition of being the first team from Fort Worth to advance to the Little League World Series in more than 40 years, TCU will honor the Fort Worth Westside All-Stars with a special presentation at halftime of the Horned Frogs' football contest versus North Texas on Sept. 21.
The festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. when the Little Leaguers will be at Frog Alley on the east side of Amon Carter Stadium to share their experiences from Williamsport with fans before the game's 6 p.m. kickoff.
At halftime, the team will be on the Amon Carter Stadium turf to be applauded by TCU and the community for their achievements, including advancing to the U.S. semifinals of the LLWS before falling to the eventual world champions from Louisville, Ky. in an 11-inning thriller.
"The enthusiasm Fort Worth has shown for our team has been outstanding," Jon Kelly, Westside Little League Manager, said. "We are very excited to be honored by TCU Athletics and look forward to coming out to see our Home Team on the 21st."
"An atmosphere of family fun is our focus for TCU Football," said Eric Hyman, TCU Athletics Director. "We are proud to have the opportunity to bring this group of kids and their families to Amon Carter Stadium to be recognized for their outstanding achievements."
