TCU basketball coach Neil Dougherty announced Thursday the men's basketball team will travel to Australia, August 11-23, to play six exhibition games.
The Frogs will first travel to Brisbane, where they will face the North Coast Allstars on August 14, and the Brisbane Bullets on August 15. Next, the team will travel to Cairns, where the Frogs will play Kuiym Pride on August 16 and Cairns Taipans on August 18. The Frogs will then fly to Sydney, where TCU will play the final two games. On August 20, TCU will face the Sydney Kings and the final game will be on August 22 versus the Wollongong Hawks.
"This will be a great opportunity to get some things accomplished on the court," said Dougherty. "As a first year head coach, I am anxious to get on the practice floor and work with the players. Before we leave, we will be able to practice for 10 days, giving the players a chance to learn our system. Come October 15, when we start fall practice, we should be further along in the learning process."
The Frogs are tentatively scheduled to begin preparations with an evening practice on July 31.
