Six Frogs Earn TSN All-Conference Honors

The Sporting News has named its Conference USA 2002 All-Conference football team. Regular season champion TCU placed a league-high six players on the squad, including four on the defensive side of the ball.
The Frogs' contigent was led by Defensive Player of the Year LaMarcus McDonald. The linebacker was a key in the Frogs boasting the nation's top defense against the run and the nation's second ranked defense overall. Joining McDonald on the defensive side were defensive tackles Chad Pugh and John Turntine and cornerback Jason Goss.
Offensive lineman Jamal Powell represented the TCU offense, while placekicker Nick Browne earned a spot on the special teams.
TCU coach Gary Patterson was named the league's Coach of the Year after leading the Horned Frogs to a 9-2 record, a share of the conference title and a spot in the Liberty Bowl.
