TCU quarterback Tye Gunn has been selected as the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the week of October 19, the league office announced today.
Gunn, a redshirt freshman, completed 17-of-23 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in TCU's 45-31 upset win at Louisville on Saturday. Gunn was 10-of-13 for 125 yards and completed touchdown passes of 17, 20 and 27 yards in the first half, as TCU built a 38-6 advantage. The 73.9 completion percentage ranks as the seventh-best single game mark in TCU history.
Gunn becomes the third TCU football player honored by the conference this season. Placekicker Nick Browne (September 3) and kick returner LaTarence Dunbar (October 7) previously were selected as the league's Special Teams Player of the Week.
