
Rifle Drops 2002 Opener at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After more than a two-month layoff for finals and semester break, TCU's rifle team opened the 2002 portion of its schedule by falling to Air Force and Wyoming Saturday at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Air Force claimed the meet with a total score of 5,989, followed by Wyoming (5,953) and the Horned Frogs (5,586).
TCU was led by junior Jessica Green (Lufkin, Texas/Homeschool/Angelina College), who paced the Frogs with scores of 371 in the air rifle and 1,098 in the smallbore. Senior Stacy Phillips (Georgetown, Texas/Georgetown) placed second on the squad in both disciplines with an air rifle mark of 365 and a 1,052 smallbore tally.
The Frogs will look to close their regular season on a high note when they visit Centenary on Sat., Feb. 2. The meet is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
