TCU Cross Country Travels to Waco

Fort Worth - The TCU men's and women's cross country teams will return to action this weekend when they travel to Waco to compete in the Baylor Invitational.
The Invitational will be hosted by Baylor University on Saturday, September 22, at the Texas Farm Bureau. The women's 5000-meter race will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the men's five-mile race following at 10 a.m.
Competing in the meet will be TCU, Baylor, Angelo State, Mary Hardin-Baylor, North Texas, Northwestern, Northwood, Southern Arkansas, SMU, Tarleton State, Texas-Arlington, Texas A&M, Tulsa, and Wayland Baptist.
The TCU women opened the season with a second-place finish at the UTA Movin' Mavs Cross Country Challenge. The women were led by senior Glady's Keitany, who finished first with a time of 11:18 in the two-mile race, finishing 22 seconds ahead of Baylor's Kara Newton. The individual title was the fifth in two seasons for Keitany.
Although, the TCU men finished sixth in the UTA Challenge, senior Eliud Njubi did win the four-mile race with a time of 19:54, 20 seconds ahead of Baylor's Matt Chance.
Also competing for the women's team are: Georgeanne Biancardi, Cindy Dietrich, Leah Hendricks, Bria Lanzara, Shannon McKinney, Emily Norton, Alexis Sanchez Robin Schacht, Katie Singleton and Stephanie Wentworth. Also competing for the TCU men on Saturday are: Stephen Goff, Stuart Harrison, Bryan Katchinska, Steven Lenney, Sean McMahon, Justin Pillsbury, Steven Stancukas, Raita Yamanouchi.
