Oklahoma Defeats TCU, 9-5

Dobbs’ two-run double highlighted a four-run first inning for the Sooners. He added a triple in the third and then hit a two-run home run in the fifth off of losing pitcher Chris Frazier. Dobbs later walked in the seventh and struck out in the eighth.
The Frogs rallied for three runs in the second on back to back doubles by Walter Olmstead and Mike Settle, then a two-run home run by Jonathan Marshall. TCU then took a 5-4 lead in the third, scoring two runs on a Erick Macha run-scoring single and a Settle RBI-basehit.
The Sooners tied the game in the bottom half of the inning on the Dobbs triple and a fielding error by shortstop Levi Robinson. The Sooners added insurance runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings to extend the lead to 9-5.
Neither of the starting pitchers received a decision. TCU starter Clayton Jerome allowed five runs on six hits in 3.0 innings. Frazier allowed three runs on five hits in 3.0 innings. Oklahoma starter Michael Bradbury allowed five runs in 2.1 innings. Austin Coose, the winning pitcher, pitched 3.2 scoreless innings.
TCU will next travel to Reno, Nevada to face the Nevada Wolf Pack in a four-game series. The series will consist of single games, Thursday-Sunday (April 5-8).
