Frogs Host Wolf Pack

The TCU Horned Frogs continue in their quest for an upper division finish in the Western Athletic Conference as they host the Nevada Wolf Pack in a 7:05 p.m. contest at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth on Saturday.
The Frogs came up with a much-needed victory on Thursday when they ran past league-leading Fresno State for a 102-88 victory. Ryan Carroll paced five Horned Frogs in double figures with 26 points. Bingo Merriex, making the start in place of the injured Myron Anthony, poured in a career-high 22 points. The Frogs outrebounded Fresno by a 43-35 margin and forced 30 turnovers while recording 21 steals in the victory.
The win over Fresno State was TCUs 13th win in 14 home games this season. Its their best home mark since the 1997-98 edition posted a 16-1 record at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
The Frogs continue to play their brand of "Billy Ball," a style that uses an aggressive, pressing defense and an attacking offense. The Frogs are the nations highest scoring team at 94.1 points per game and have been over the 100-point plateau 11 times this season, including a season-high 141 in a win over Central Oklahoma. Since Coach Tubbs took over the TCU program in 1994, the Frogs are 55-1 when they score 100 or more points. Now in his 27th season as a head coach, Tubbs has compiled an overall record of 576-279, including a 137-77 mark since coming to Fort Worth.
The Frogs will be on the road for their next two games as they travel to Hawaii for a Thursday, February 22 game against the Rainbow Warriors, then come back from the island to face San Jose State on Saturday, February 24. Their final home game of the season is set for Thursday, March 1 when they host the UTEP Miners in a 7:05 p.m. contest at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
