For the first time in years, Arkansas failed to garner all of the first-place votes and the margin between the top three teams is as slim as it's ever been. The Lady Backs, who hold down the #13 position in the national poll garnered seven of the 10 first-place votes and 95 points overall in the South Central Regional poll, while 18th-ranked Texas A&M picked up a pair of first-place votes and 89 total points. TCU, which has won each of its first two meets this season, picked up the remaining first place vote and notched 84 points overall. On the men's side, TCU continues to rank 10th among the teams in the South Central Region.
The South Central Regional Cross Country Poll is compiled each Wednesday throughout the cross country season. The South Central Region comprises all NCAA Division I Schools in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas (excluding UTEP and Texas Tech). Every cross country coach in the region has a right to vote each week.
The NCAA South Central Regional Meet will be held on November 11 at Eagle Point Golf Course in Denton, Texas. The top two teams and the top four individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships to be held in Ames, Iowa on Monday, Nov. 20.
