Ross Bailey Named Associate Athletic Director

Ross expressed a desire two years ago about becoming an Associate Athletic Director, said Hyman. He has more than earned this opportunity because of his service, dedication and loyalty to TCU and TCU athletics throughout the years.
Bailey will direct and manage all aspects of the sports medicine department, equipment room, video services and strength and development. He will also direct and manage game-day operations for football, men's and women's basketball, baseball and volleyball. In addition, he will oversee the maintenance of current facilities and the construction of all new facilities.
This represents a tremendous opportunity for me to grow with the university, said Bailey. I look forward to the new challenges presented by the expansion of my duties.
Bailey has spent the past 22 years as head athletic trainer at TCU. His responsibilities have included athletic injury recognition and care, treatment and rehabilitation. Prior to assuming the position of head trainer in 1978, Bailey served one season as a graduate assistant and four years as a student trainer. A certified member of NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association), Bailey was the 1985 recipient of the Eddie Wojecki-Trainer of the Year award. He earned the Frank Medina award for service to athletic training and mankind in 1999 and will be inducted into the SWATA Athletic Training Hall of Fame next week in Arlington.
Bailey received his B.S. degree in Physical Education from TCU in 1976 and also earned a master's degree in education from TCU. A Dallas native, Bailey and his wife, the former Mary Hutton of San Antonio, Texas, are the parents of two daughters, Lauren and Courtney.
With Bailey's promotion, Associate Athletic Trainer Chris Hall has been named Coordinator of Athletic Training Services and Associate Athletic Trainer Kristin Lage has been named Program Director for NATA, CAAHEP, an approved athletic training education program, one of only two in the state of Texas. Hall has been with the TCU training staff for the past 15 years, while Lage joined the staff in 1993.
