Tom Bates Earns WAC Baseball Player of the Week

DENVER (May 2) - TCU right fielder Tom Bates has been named the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 24-30.

Bates, a junior from Sugar Land, Texas (Clements), was 7-for-8 (.875) in two games against Hawai`i and had a slugging percentage of 2.125. In a 7-1 win on Friday, he singled, tripled and homered in three at-bats, driving in two runs. The next day, he doubled twice, singled and homered while driving in another two runs. He also scored four times in the two games.
