TCU's Hamilton, Thompson Earn WAC Baseball Honors

Hamilton, a senior from Hurst, Texas (Bell HS), hit .636 (7-11) in a three-game sweep of Hawai`i-Hilo last week. In an 11-5 win on Thursday, Hamilton reached base in all five plate appearances with a home run, a triple, two singles and was hit by a pitch. On Saturday, he helped TCU erase a 7-1 deficit by tying a school record with three doubles. He scored four times in the series and drove in seven. In the series, Hamilton had a slugging percentage of 1.364 and an on-base percentage of .714.
Thompson, a senior native of Missouri City, Texas (Elkins HS), pitched TCU' s first complete game of the season in a 2-1 victory over Hawai`i-Hilo on Thursday. Thompson allowed one run in the first and then blanked the Vulcans the rest of the game. In the final eight innings, no runners advanced past second base and he retired the side in the second, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth innings. He gave up five hits, one walk and struck out four in the game.
