TCU Men's Golfers Place 11th at U.S. Collegiate

LOS CABOS, Mexico (Apr. 10) - The TCU men's golf team placed 11th at the 2000 COMPAQ U.S. Collegiate. Georgia Tech was the team winner with a total of 838. Clemson placed second at 852. TCU and host school Kent tied for 11th in the 12 team field with a 903.
In the individual race, Edward Loar of Oklahoma State bettered Northwestern's Luke Donald by one stroke. Loar shot a 13-under, 203. Donald finished with a 12-under, 204.
For TCU, Aaron Hickman was the top finisher, placing 33rd. Hickman shot a 222. Making his TCU debut, Steve Shuert shot a 224 and finished in 38th place.
Rounding out the TCU lineup, Andy Doeden shot a 225 and finished 41st, Bret Guetz carded a 232 placing 53rd and Sal Spallone shot a 239 finishing in 57th.
TCU next competes at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., on April 15-16.
