Sooners Scoot Past TCU Women's Hoops, 94-74

FORT WORTH, Texas (Dec. 8) - Stacey Dales scored 23 to lead five Sooners in double figures as Oklahoma raced past TCU, 94-74, in women's college basketball Tuesday night.
Oklahoma (6-2) jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the game's first four minutes, then extended that margin to as many as 17 with 3:14 left in the opening stanza, and held a 13-point bulge at intermission, 43-30. Dales paced that first half with 13 points, as the Sooners connected on 55 percent of their field goals (16-of-29).
The Sooners opened the second half much like the first, and ran out to a 20-point cushion in the first five minutes of the second period, 56-36. The leads reached 30 with 7:59 remaining, 77-47, and the Horned Frogs got only as close as the final score.
TCU (5-3) was led by Diamond Jackson's 20 points. Jill Sutton posted a season-high 17, with Tricia Payne contributing 12 points on the night. Dales got scoring help from Phylesha Whaley's 17, 14 from Caton Hill, and 10 each from LaNeisha Caufield and Jadrea Seeley.
The Horned Frogs have lost two straight after winning four in a row. TCU travels to Springfield, Mo., for the inaugural Women's Sports Foundation Classic. The Frogs take on host Southwest Missouri State in the 8:35 p.m. matchup, and will play either Kansas State or Oregon on Saturday night. The consolation game is set for 6 p.m., with the championship tilt tipping off at 8:35 p.m. on Saturday.
