Franchione To Coach Frogs In Bowl Game

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Dec. 8) - Former TCU head coach Dennis Franchione will coach the Horned Frogs in the GMAC Mobile Alabama Bowl, TCU head coach Gary Patterson announced late Dec. 8.
"We want to do what is best for TCU and our student-athletes," said Patterson. "The season started with Fran as the head coach and should end the same way. We met as a team this afternoon and agreed that the right thing to do was to let Fran coach in the bowl game. (Athletics Director) Eric Hyman agrees with that decision and I agree with that decision."
The Frogs, 10-1 and ranked 13th in the Associated Press poll, will take on Southern Mississippi in Mobile on December 20. The game will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
