Printers Earns WAC Offensive Player of the Week Award

DENVER (Nov. 27) - TCU quarterback Casey Printers, Fresno State free safety Bryce McGill and Tulsa punter Casey Lipscomb were named the offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.
Printers, a sophomore from DeSoto, Texas (DeSoto HS), accounted for five touchdowns in a 62-7 win against SMU. He completed 13-of-19 passes for 251 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. Printers also rushed seven times for 90 yards and another score. He threw touchdown passes of 38, 19, 16 and 34 yards.
McGill, a freshman from Bakersfield, Calif. (Bakersfield), had a season-high 13 tackles (nine solo) in his first career start in a win at San Jose State. McGill also had one tackle for a loss of 20 yards and forced a fumble in the game. He was part of a defense that held the WAC's second highest scoring offense to a season-low six points and also helped hold the Spartans to just 38 yards rushing.
Lipscomb, a junior from Miami, Okla. (Miami HS), punted five times for 233 yards and a 46.6-yard average in a victory over Nevada. He had two punts inside the 20-yard line, including a long of 71 yards that was downed at the one-yard line.
Other offensive nominees included junior quarterback David Carr, Fresno State; sophomore wide receiver Justin Colbert, Hawai'i; and freshman running back Eric Richardson, Tulsa.
On the defensive side, nominees included junior defensive back Nate Jackson, Hawai'i; senior defensive end Aaron Schobel, TCU; and senior linebacker Ashon Farley, Tulsa.
Special team nominations included freshman punter Mat McBriar, Hawai'i.
