The Arkansas women garnered eight of the nine first place votes and 88 points in the poll this week. Texas A&M garnered the final first place vote and ranks second overall with 81 points. TCU, coming off an impressive win at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree, remains in third place with 74 points. The TCU men received five votes and dropped into a tie with LSU for 12th place after holding down the 10th position last week. Neither TCU squad is scheduled to compete this weekend.
The South Central Regional Cross Country Poll is compiled each Wednesday throughout the cross country season. The South Central Region comprises all NCAA Division I Schools in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas (excluding UTEP and Texas Tech). Every cross country coach in the region has a right to vote each week.
The NCAA South Central Regional Meet will be held on November 11 at Eagle Point Golf Course in Denton, Texas. The top two teams and the top four individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships to be held in Ames, Iowa on Monday, Nov. 20.
