FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) (Oct. 28) - TCU punter Joey Biasatti broke his right leg when he was hit by a Rice player in the first quarter of Saturday's game.
Biasatti was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The punter, whose 41.6-yard average ranked second in the Western Athletic Conference, will miss the rest of the season for the 11th-ranked Horned Frogs.
Biasatti had just kicked the ball when linebacker Jeff Vanover made contact. The fibula and tibia bones in the punter's right leg, his kicking leg, both broke when he fell awkwardly to the ground.
A roughing the punter penalty was called against Vanover. The 15-yard penalty kept alive the opening drive for TCU, which scored 12 plays later on George Layne's 1-yard run.
