TCU Hires Compliance Director

Evans brings six years of university compliance experience to Fort Worth. He has spent the past two years as the Athletics Compliance Coordinator at the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. Prior to that stop he served as the NCAA Compliance Coordinator at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. While at East Central University, he also worked as an assistant professor and was the men's tennis coach.

Evans began his professional career in 1982 as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Penn. He was promoted to Head Men's Basketball Coach in 1984 and also took on the duties of Head Men's Tennis Coach, chairman of the HPER department and as an instructor. In 1987 he accepted a position at Eastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla., where he was the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and served as an instructor. He had similar duties when he joined the East Central University staff in 1991.
Evans earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Administrative Studies/Health and Physical Education from the University of California-Riverside in 1982. He received his Masters of Education degree in Athletic Administration from Slippery Rock (Penn.) University in 1987. He added a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Texas in 1996.
Evans is expected to assume his duties on October 23.
