TCU Victorious Over Ball State

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Horned Frog tennis team, ranked 32 in the nation, defeated the Ball State Cardinals 7-0 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Canter. The TCU netters earned its first victory of the 1999 season, improving to 1-1.
In the #1 spot, 6th ranked Esteban Carril defeated Ryan Baxter, 7-5, 6-1. Carril improves to 3-3 in the spring season. TCU #1 doubles team of Esteban Carril and Martin Jirak defeated Ball State's Juan Fernandez and Jason Pressel. Ball State falls to 3-3 in the season. TCU next hosts the Brigham Young Cougars on February 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
"It was a real strong team effort. We had some very tight sets today, and by winning them, we gained a huge deal of confidence going into next week against BYU and New Mexico," TCU head coach, Michael Center said.
