King Earns WAC Player of the Week Honors

King keyed the Horned Frogs to a 3-1 (15-11, 15-11, 14-16, 15-7) win over Rice and a 3-0 (16-14, 15-7, 15-5) win over Tulsa.
For the week, King recorded 37 kills (5.29 kills per game) on 75 attempts, with just 11 errors for a .347 attack percentage. She also added 33 digs (4.71 digs per game), three assists, four aces and seven blocks. Against Rice, King tallied match highs with 26 kills and 20 digs. That outing was the second in her career in which she had both 20 or more digs and kills in a match, becoming the first player to do that twice at TCU. Against Tulsa, she recorded 11 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and hit .348.
"I thought Marci played really well this week," head coach Sandy Troudt said. "I was impressed with the way Marci came back from a difficult week last week. We talked to her and she came back wanting to play hard."
For the season, King led TCU in kills (300) , kills per game (3.09) and service aces (33).
The Frogs finished up the 1999 campaign with the wins over Rice and Tulsa, finishing the season at 11-19 and 5-9 in conference play.
